When you are spoke to by a “Talebearer” as a Christian you do so in one of 2 ways. You face them in the flesh or in the spirit. What is a talebearer and what does God’s word say about them?
God warns us “Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD.” in Leviticus 19:16. In Proverbs 26:22 we hear that “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” and
in Proverbs 20:19 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. and He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. Proverbs 26:20
So in the flesh you may continue the story of the talebearer and become one yourself or if you have a faithful spirit your lips will not repeat the tale true or not.
Proverbs 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
What is the motive of the talebearer? Could it be in their flesh they desire to have attention of others or want power to harm or maybe have a lust for control over others. Do they want to do God’s job for Him since they must believe He can not do it Himself? If we look at the person who has the tale tell them to pray and ask God to give them understanding in what they are doing with these words of God in mind they may stop or they may in the flesh have a new tale to share about you.
